A weird practice taking place in Bali, known as selling heads or selling tourists, mostly of the Chinese origin, to the highest bidder is a very controversial and disreputable tourism practice. These involve buying of Chinese tourists by tour operators and pressurizing them for taking tours, visit shops and eat at restaurants of Bali. Allegedly, that gives large commissions to the tour operators of Bali.
Activists of a forum organized by Bisnis Bali were in the opinion that if the government does not take steps against this problem, this practice of selling heads will spoil the image of Bali as an ultimate tourism destination. A local paper said that the provincial government of Bali should take away the business licenses of companies involved in this practice.
