Travel Bali by bike and you have the opportunity to leave the urban sprawl behind. The densely populated resort area between Denpassar, Ubud and Kuta Beach is famous for culture and handicrafts, but those wanting a more relaxed island experience should get out into the country side.

Bike tours are one of the best ways to do that, and travelers will find a number of local providers offering cycling tours in the major resort areas. One that is highly recommended is Bali Eco Cycling, which leads small group tours through rural Bali. The tour stops at a local restaurant for lunch and an agri-tourism center where travelers can sample exotic spices that are being processed for sale and export. This center also features the world's most expensive and rarest coffee.
